Goals
We are driven to identify efficient methods of industry training and solutions to develop a competent skilled workforce. We will achieve our goals through effective governance and decision-making.
Some of our long-term goals are:
- Create the on-going capacity to plan, identify and address transportation industry training and career development needs in British Columbia.
- Ensure adequate transportation employer and worker participation in and completion of industry training and career development.
- Develop and implement strategies for attracting and retaining young people and other job-seekers (i.e. Aboriginal people, immigrants, displaced workers, persons with disabilities, and women) into transportation careers and industry training programs.
- Ensure existing and new transportation-related industry training and career development programs are up-to-date and respond to employer and worker needs, including technological change.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to diversify our industry training and career development services and funding sources.
