Agricultural Equipment Technicians must have the skills, knowledge and ability to set up, maintain, service, diagnose, repair and recondition agricultural equipment. This equipment includes tractors and combines, as well as a variety of implements for agricultural functions such as tillage, seeding, planting, harvesting, haying, spraying and application. Agricultural Equipment Technicians are involved in preventative maintenance, where they spend most of their time repairing malfunctioning or out of service equipment, either in the shop or in the field.

Diesel Engine Mechanics must have the skills, knowledge and ability to install, repair and maintain all internal combustion diesel engines and components. Diesel Engine Mechanics are employed in many sectors such as construction, marine and transportation.

Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (Mechanic)Red Seal

Heavy Duty Technicians must have the skills, knowledge and ability to diagnose, repair, adjust, overhaul, operate and test off-road equipment that are powered by internal combustion engines or electricity. Heavy Duty Technicians are employed in many sectors such as mining, forestry, construction, marine, and oil and gas. Good physical condition and important attributes such as mechanical and mathematical aptitude are required.

Heavy Equipment Operator

Heavy Equipment Operators must have the skills, knowledge and ability to operate heavy machinery universally for all methods of heavy construction, earth moving, road building, mining and forestry projects. Certified operators may also be responsible for the basic maintenance of equipment, safety around equipment and the compliance of markers, grades and stakes.

Tire repairers are employed at Commercial and Industrial Tire Repair shops and or those involved in vulcanizing and recapping which can provide appropriate work based training; shops which specialize in Automotive Tire repairs only, can not.
